The idea

Instead of just uploading an image showing the organization chart, I have decided to try to make it using wiki code so that the chart will be interactive. This means that clicking on a subsytem will take you to the portal of the subsystem; clicking on a name will take you to the user page of that person. --Alexc 18:01, 23 February 2009 (EST)

This is looking extremely useful over the old system. Now we can point people here if they have questions, and they know exactly who to talk to. Plus it serves to show that all these things are actually being thought of. --Anders Feder 18:39, 24 February 2009 (EST)

Glad to know it's useful. I was a bit concerned about how far we can go with wiki tables, but this will certainly be much easier to maintain than a single diagram on somebody's disk. Still have to put the management on top of it, though. --Alexc 18:51, 24 February 2009 (EST)

The solution

OK, guys let's stop for a moment our work and try to fix this diagram. I have marked this diagram as In progress. If we don't have a direction we can't go any way. Some proposals?--Joshua 19:17, 7 March 2009 (EST)

  • Is B.Fishbourne still "active" as Teammember? --tobiokanobi 21:35, 17 June 2009 (EDT)
yes, he's just very busy. -- Jdp 00:31, 18 June 2009 (EDT)
We had some emails and he is participating in Ground Station discussions. Email: brett.fishburne(AT)teamfrednet(DOT)org. Regards, --Joshua 14:09, 18 June 2009 (EDT)

Just do it

Just do it.

Up to now we have some blanks marked as (???). If you feel you can take responsabilities just write your name and comunicate to the matrix leaders.--Joshua 18:04, 19 April 2009 (EDT)

Why delete comments from the talk page? --Alexc 15:49, 10 June 2009 (EDT)

Because these was a misundestanding and are useless in this case. As per activity report, this article is related to organization so it was removed. --Joshua 16:26, 10 June 2009 (EDT)

Still a WIP

Rob has presented a new organization approach based on a 3D-matrix and I like the idea. The three axes are {Group, Qualification, Location}. An example of this is the Lunar Lander Mockup. We have a version in Canberra and other in Texas. Rob said:

Team FREDNET is a 3D matrix:
  1. group task (Rover, Lander, et cetera)
  2. qualification (Software, Hardware, et cetera)
  3. location (California, Spain, et cetera).

The idea of breaking out location is a novel suggestion that might help improve the team in the same way Local LUGs benefit Ubuntu. (Rob)

At this point I want to break the old heritage and be realistic with the imminent organization need. I have found that actual organization diagram Still a WIP but it does reflect the organization. My proposal is pointing to mission architecture like this. --Tristancho 16:17, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
