Team FREDNET is working to develop an open source solution to the Google Lunar X-prize. This software is a demonstration of open source methodologies and is intended to create the basis of the collaborative tool for others to remotely operate their own 'lunar rovers'. Our initial beta model using LEGO Mindstorm technology and a few extra components to demonstrate the challenges and opportunities for remote robotic operations. This same software can be use (albeit with modifications) to test our various rover concepts and to allow other to participate in our development program. We are growing our Lunar team through the open source methodology of the internet. Join us to participate in this adventure.
